Since I began my career in public service with the objective of assume the Presidency of Ecuador in 1998 -which according to many, it was ripped from my hands by electoral fraud- I have been attacked in both areas, family and business in the most vile and infamous way.

Directly and using third people they try to destroy me because if I reach the presidency I would end with corruption and poverty, which is not convenient for the powerful lords.

I have been attacked in business, discrediting me with accusations as: My companies' do not pay enough taxes, but the companies and I are the biggest contributors for the country.

They have wanted me, unsuccessfully, to antagonize with workers when in fact, I maintain excellent working relationships with them, and also a deep affection with workers and employees.

They have wanted to get me prosecuted, in order to get all the money they could out.
They have wanted to bankrupt me
They have wanted me to get arrested. I have being threatened with kidnaping and death
They have wanted to convince Ecuadorians that I am an heir more; however, I get what I with my work of more than 40 years. Thank God.
They have wanted to accuse me of harming my family members when they are all very rich and I have never harmed them.
They have wanted to damage my image with outrages of all kinds. They have attacked my honor.
They have wanted by all the ways to stop my fight for the poorest in Ecuador. They wanted to stop my fight because they are trying to stop my mission that is helping the developing of Ecuador and make it as I want: a rich and developed country.

I am proud with the work I have managed the creation of thousands of jobs and be a businessman who more people employs in Ecuador. I am proud of all the new enterprises I have created, because they bring welfare to many Ecuadorians. Also I am proud to provide care to hundreds of thousands of Ecuadorians every year through medical brigades.
I am proud of my public service
I am proud of my wife and family we have formed.
I have passed to history and I continue making history with my work, social work and public service and especially for loving and serving human beings.

The evil forces will continue fighting against me, but I will always serve to Ecuador and Ecuadorians from my corporate job, from my post of civic struggle, in my Foundation and welfare centers.

I will not stop despite the thousands of calumnies and attacks of all types. Because I love Ecuador, and I desire as many Ecuadorians, turn our country into a developed country, where poor Ecuadorians become a level middle-class, with a cement house, car, education for their children, health and everything needed to live well as the citizens of developed countries.
